Mayor's Armed Forces Committee seeks sponsors for our
Fallen Soldiers Battle Cross Memorial in front of Vinton City Hall.
For a donation of $100, any active military personnel or veteran can have their name inscribed on the Donor Plaque. You may also have the name of a loved one who served inscribed on the plaque at the Memorial. We require the full name of the Veteran and their branch of service. Organizations and individuals can have their name inscribed on the sponsor's stone for a $500 fee.
Individuals wishing to donate and have their name inscribed on the sponsor's stone for a fee of $500 DO NOT have to have served in the military. Also, please note that any veteran is eligible to have his or her name inscribed on the plaque. They do not have to be a past or present resident of Vinton, LA.
All checks should be made out to "Vinton Mayor's Armed Forces Committee". Please specify the full name you wish to inscribe. Submit the name and branch of service spelled out correctly in writing and attach it to your check.
Corrections cannot be made after the name is inscribed on the monument!

Schedule for Waste Management Trash Service
Wednesday is Trash Pickup Day
Waste Management will pick up your trash every Wednesday throughout the entire town. Please have your cans out at street side by 4:00 AM to ensure pickup.
Trash placed outside of cans must be bagged and not weigh more than 50 pounds. Limbs are to be cut no longer than four feet in length and be tied or bundled for workers to be able to handle. Please keep worker safety in mind. Place debris in safe location and not under power lines.

- BALANCED UTILITY BILLING is available for Vinton Utility customers. Stephanie Hardy, Billing Specialist for Vinton, reminds utility customers that applications are currently being taken for balanced billing, now through May 15. Utility customers interested in this payment option should call Stephanie, at (337) 589-7453, Monday thru Thursday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM or on Fridays from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon.
- WATER METER AND ELECTRIC SERVICE INFORMATION is available on-line, click here.
Current flat rate on water is $19.00, garbage is $21.00, and sewer is $19.00. For electricity & public works sign up there is a 24 hour window for service to be connected during the week, but if you come for service on a Friday connection may be delayed until Monday. This applies to permits for water, sewer, work orders or inspections in Public Works and Electrical. The Department closes at 4:30 PM Monday - Thursday and closes at 12 noon on Friday. click here for rates and to print sign up information
