The Mayor and
Council of the Town of Vinton, Louisiana, met in special session at the regular
meeting place of said Mayor and Council, in the Town Hall, Vinton, Louisiana, at
6:30 P.M., on the 11th day of September, 2007, after full compliance
with all requirements as to notice and otherwise in respect to convening of
said meeting with the following members present:
Kenneth
O. Stinson, Mayor
Kevin Merchant, Mayor-Pro-Tem
Edward J.
Vice, Council Member
ABSENT:
William
“BB” Loyd, Council Member
ALSO PRESENT: Thad
Minaldi, Town Attorney and Phillip Abshire, CPA
Kenneth Stinson,
Mayor called the meeting to order and reported that the purpose of the meeting
was as follows:
1. To discuss and/or transact business pertinent to
Public Hearing/possible adoption of the proposed 2008 budget.
It was moved by
Council Member Douglass to recess the special meeting for a public hearing
regarding the proposed 2008 budget. The
motion was seconded by Council Member Merchant and carried.
There was no
comment from the public however Council Member Vice stated he wanted to
increase the budget for the police department to allow for 2 additional
employees.
There being no
other comments, it was moved by Council Member Merchant that the special
meeting be re-convened. The motion was
seconded by Council Member Douglass and carried.
It was moved by
Council Member Douglass that the 2008 budget be adopted as presented. The motion was seconded by Council Member
Merchant and the vote cast thereon was as follows:
YEAS: Council Members Douglass, Merchant and Vice
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Council Members Bujard and Loyd
There being no further business to come before
the Governing Authority, it was moved by Council Member Douglass that the
meeting be adjourned. The motion was
seconded by Council Member Merchant and carried.
