Vinton, Louisiana
The Mayor and
Council of the Town of Vinton, Louisiana, met in special session at the regular
meeting place of said Mayor and Council, in the Town Hall, Vinton, Louisiana,
at 6:00 P.M., on the 4th day of June 2008, after full compliance
with all requirements as to notice and otherwise in respect to convening of
said meeting with the following members present:

O. Stinson, Mayor
William
“BB” Loyd, Council Member
Kevin
Merchant, Mayor-Pro-Tem
Edward J. Vice, Council
Member
ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT:
Kenneth Stinson,
Mayor called the meeting to order and reported that the purpose of the meeting
was as follows:
1.
To
discuss and/or transact business pertinent to Executive Session regarding
litigation.
It was moved by Council Member Merchant that the
meeting be recessed for an executive
session
to discuss pending litigation. The
motion was seconded by Council Member Douglass and carried.
It was moved by
Council Member Douglass that the special meeting be re-convened. The motion was seconded by Council Member
Bujard and carried.
After
discussion, it was moved by Council Member Douglass to authorize the payment of
$534,660.00 to AERR, the portion of the “hanger” contract not reimbursed by
FEMA. In addition, in presenting this payment
for the hanger contract, the Mayor and Attorney have the authority to negotiate
with AERR regarding settlement of the AERR lateral contract in the amount of $760,350.00
also not reimbursed by FEMA, such settlement including, but not necessarily
limited to, an annual payment from the town to AERR, all negotiations at the
complete discretion of the Mayor and the Attorney. The vote cast thereon was as follows:

There being no
further business to come before the governing authority, it was moved by
Council Member Douglass that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by Council Member
Merchant and carried.
