Kenneth O. Stinson, Mayor called the meeting to order. Chaplin Tatum led in prayer, and there
followed the Pledge of Allegiance.
It was moved by Council Member Douga
that the minutes of prior meeting/s, copies of which were mailed to each
Council Member, be approved as written.
The motion was seconded by Council Member Patin and carried.
Mary Vice, City Clerk gave the
monthly Administration Department report.
Mayor Stinson presented Proclamations
honoring the following students for being named “Students of the Year” in 2010:
Darby
Richard – Vinton Elementary
Megan
Gaillard – Vinton Middle
Chastity
Swinburn – Vinton High
Bills for the month of April, 2010,
were approved and payment authorized upon a motion by Council Member Merchant,
seconded by Council Member Loyd and carried.
Mayor Stinson updated the governing
authority on pending grants and projects.
Ricky Fox, Chief of Police gave the
monthly Police Department report.
Upon the recommendation of Chief Fox,
it was moved by Council Member Loyd that Kristina M. Shreeve be hired as a
probationary dispatcher. The motion was
seconded by Council Member Merchant and carried.
It was moved by Council Member
Merchant that the attorney be authorized to research the possibility of having

reports.
Ms. Judy Vice requested that the
Council issue an exception to the minimum lot size ordinance for 1502 Fancher
Street, property belonging to Edward J. Vice.
She stated they want to put a trailer there for her brother to stay in
to help take care of her dad.
After discussion, it was moved by
Council Member Patin and seconded by Council Member Loyd that an exception to
the minimum lot size ordinance be issued for 1502 Fancher Street allowing the
property owner to move a trailer onto the property for the above stated
reason. A roll call vote was called and
the vote cast thereon was as follows:

NAYS: None
ABSENT: Council Member Bujard
It was moved by Council Member
Merchant that the agenda be amended to hear a request from Amos LaBorde
regarding an exception to the minimum lot size ordinance. The motion was seconded by Council Member
Patin and passed unanimously.

minimum lot size ordinance be issued for 1217 North Street allowing the
property owner to move a trailer onto the property for the above stated

There being no further business to
come before the Governing Authority, it was moved by Council Member Douga that
the meeting be adjourned. The motion was
