The Mayor and Council of
the Town of Vinton, Louisiana, met in special session at the regular meeting
place of said Mayor and Council, in the Town Hall, Vinton, Louisiana, at 6:10
P.M., on the 5th day of April, 2010, after full compliance with all
requirements as to notice and otherwise in respect to convening of said meeting
with the following members present:
Kenneth
O. Stinson, Mayor
Harold
R. Douga, Council Member
William
“BB” Loyd, Council Member
Paul
Patin, Council Member
ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT:
Kenneth Stinson, Mayor called
the meeting to order and reported that the purposes of the meeting were as
follows:
1.
To discuss and/or transact
business pertinent to 2009 Audit presentation.
2.
To discuss and/or transact
business pertinent to approving Liquor License for Love’s Casino.
3.
Executive Session regarding
pending litigation.
Coy Vincent,
Auditor presented the 2009 Audit to the governing authority. Mr. Vincent reported that
the Town received a clean
opinion and was in good financial condition.
It was moved by Council Member Bujard
that the 2009 Audit be accepted as presented.
The motion was seconded by Council Member Douga and carried.
It was moved by Council Member Patin
that the following Class “A” Liquor License be approved:
Love’s
Casino #362
2024B
The motion was seconded by
Council Member Merchant and carried.
It was moved by Council Member
Merchant that the regular meeting be recessed for an executive session
regarding pending litigation. The motion
was seconded by Council Member Bujard and carried.
It was moved by Council Member Loyd
that the regular meeting be re-convened.
The motion was seconded by Council Member Merchant and carried.
Mayor Stinson announced that the
pending litigation with AERR had been discussed in executive session.
It was moved by Council Member Douga
that considering the fee and cost estimate of Jones Walker, the Town pay up to
$15,000.00 to continue to have Jones Walker work on the Town’s FEMA Appeal
regarding the unpaid drainage laterals costs with AERR, in the event an
additional meeting with FEMA is arranged about the drainage lateral
appeal. The motion was seconded by
Council Member Merchant a roll call vote was called and the vote cast thereon
was as follows:
YEAS: Council Members Bujard, Douga, Loyd and
Merchant
NAYS: Council Member Patin
ABSENT: None
There being no further business to come before the governing authority,
it was moved by Council Member Loyd that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by Council Member Merchant
and carried.
