Kenneth O. Stinson, Mayor called the meeting to order. Chaplin Tatum led in prayer, and there
followed the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mayor Stinson presented a Proclamation to the American Legion
and VFW honoring the Four Chaplins Memorial Day.
It was moved by Council Member Douga
that the minutes of prior meeting/s, copies of which were mailed to each
Council Loyd, be approved as written.
The motion was seconded by Council Member Loyd and carried.
Mary Vice, City Clerk gave the
monthly Administration Department report.
Bills for the month of January, 2009,
were approved and payment authorized upon a motion by Council Member Bujard,
seconded by Council Member Douga and carried.
Mr. Jason Barnes explained the
proposed
Mayor Stinson updated the governing
authority on pending grants and projects.
He reported that he had received notification on being awarded the
following grants:
1. L-GAP for upgrades to the
2. L-TAP for variable message board - $24,700.00

It was moved by Council Member
Merchant that the following Resolution be ratified authorizing the Mayor to act
of behalf of the Town in all matters pertaining to the “Extension of

The demolition of
After discussion, it was moved by
Council Member Loyd to move forward the demolition of
YEAS: Council Members Bujard, Douga, Loyd, Merchant
and Vice
NAYS: None
ABSENT:

Ricky Fox, Chief of Police gave the
monthly Police Department report.
Upon
the recommendation of the Chief, it was moved by Council Member Vice that
Cynthia Granger be hired as a probationary dispatcher in the Police Department. The motion was seconded by Council Member
Merchant and carried.

come before the Governing Authority, it was moved by Council Member Loyd that
the meeting be adjourned. The motion was
seconded by Council Member Bujard and carried.
